What this policy covers
This policy explains how the Scale Calculator app for Android (package com.calculatescale.app) handles your information. The app is developed and published by Tomasz Warezak, who also runs CalculateScale.com.
It describes the app only. The website you are reading this on is a separate matter: it uses cookies and analytics, and those are covered by the website privacy and cookie policy.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app does not collect, store or send any information about you or your device.
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- No analytics and no usage tracking.
- No ads and no advertising identifier.
- No crash-reporting library.
- No access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or files.
We never see the scales and measurements you work with, because nothing is ever sent to us.
The app cannot reach the internet
Scale Calculator does not request the Android INTERNET permission. Without it, the system blocks any network connection the app might attempt, so your data cannot leave the device even in principle. The app behaves exactly the same way in airplane mode.
It also requests no Android permission that grants access to your data, which is why Android shows no permission prompt when you install or use it.
What stays on your device
Two kinds of information live on your phone while you use the app:
- The numbers you type. Scales, lengths and units are held in memory only, for as long as the app is running. They are never written to storage and are gone once you close the app.
- The settings you choose in the app, such as the interface language or whether the welcome screen should appear again. These are saved on the device so the app can remember how you like to work. They are preferences rather than personal data, and they sit in the app's private storage, where other apps cannot read them.
Android may include those settings in the device backup that the system makes to your own Google account, together with the settings of your other apps. That backup belongs to you and is handled by Google under its own terms. We have no access to it, and you can switch device backup off in your Android settings.
Uninstalling the app removes its data from the device.
Who else receives your data
No one. The app contains no third-party services, no software development kits and no servers of ours, so there is nothing to share and no data transfer to report.
The app is distributed through Google Play. As part of running the store, Google collects its own data about installs, ratings and crashes, independently of the app, and passes it on to us only in aggregate form that identifies no one. That processing is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Children
The app is a general-purpose calculation tool and is not directed at children. Since it collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.
Your rights and how to reach us
Data protection law gives you the right to see, correct or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to look up, hand over or erase.

If a future version of the app does something that affects your privacy, we will update this page and change the date below before that version is released. It is worth looking here again after a major update.
